Apex and ROA in “Street Art We Love Now” (SF Bay Guardian)
In this week’s Guardian, two of our favorite artists ROA and Apex were featured in “Street Art We Love Now” for their murals that are providing San Francisco with some seriously sweet eye candy. ROA, who is currently on show in 941 Geary in an epic installation, created a mural last spring keeping with his usual subject matter of dark animal forms, overlooking Thursday’s Mission Community Market on Barlett & 21st. Apex, who has previously shown at White Walls, has collaborated with Mona Caron on the back of the Luggage Gallery’s Trailhead coffeeshop on Market & McAllister to create a beautifully organic juxtaposition of graffiti and foliage. To read more about current San Francisco Street art, you can find the article in the September 26-October 2 Guardian, or online.
While you’re perusing the SF street art scene, check out Apex’s recent colorful mural on Haight and Masonic. Make sure to come by 941 Geary to see ROA’s current installation “Dominant Species” which will run through November 3rd.
